Girls on the Run is a national non-profit organization that builds girls’ self esteem through a running program. The mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident and to develop good decision making skills with our structured curriculum. It is a 10 week session for girls in grades 3-5. We meet twice a week, starting on March 25th. Our meeting times will be Wednesday afternoons from 2:50–4:00pm, and Friday mornings from 7:30-8:25 am. Participants are expected to attend both days of the week for the full 10 weeks. This is a wonderful program that was introduced to Hindley in the Fall of 2013, and is now running at all Darien elementary schools. At the end of the 10-week session, we participate in a 3.1 mile run, which will be in New Canaan on June 7th. Online registration is available at www.girlsontherunffldcty.org. Sign up early, as spaces fill fast and our limit is 15 girls. Questions? Contact Jessica Anderson at 917-655-5296. For more information, click here.
