Hindley Welcome Center

The Hindley Welcome Center is the front table located inside the lobby at school. It is staffed by parent volunteers who generously give time to help the school and stay connected to Hindley! This person is responsible for greeting each person as they enter the building, having them fill out the log book, take a sticker and provide any helpful information that will guide them to their destination (school maps provided if needed). It is one of the many components that make Hindley such a special school! If you are new to our school or a returning parent, this is a very easy and rewarding way to get involved! Please click on this  link to sign up for one of the many time slots that need to be filled – each day needs 4 people to consistently keep a friendly face and the added level of protection at our school.

A Letter from Principal Rita Ferri

Dear Hindley parents,

Welcome to the 2015 – 2016 school year! It’s difficult to believe that our summer days are fading into quickly approaching crisp, cool mornings that will carry our happy and hopeful children to Hindley School! Our students are hopeful and optimistic about the year ahead and excited about returning to new teachers and friends! Thus, we have a great responsibility in maintaining those expectations by providing a safe, appropriate and comfortable school which is conducive for learning – academically, socially and emotionally; and, where all children feel an integral part of our school community!

As we approach a new, school year I suggest that we look for the extraordinary in the ordinary.  We see in life what we want to see.  If we look for the extraordinary in the ordinary, we will see it!  Within our school community there is so much to be grateful for, so much to be in awe about.  Let’s put our attention on this fact and little ordinary things will take on a whole new meaning.

We are energized and delighted to begin our school year with a spirit of discovery and exploration, of looking for the extraordinary in the ordinary.  Together, we can look forward to new opportunities, learning situations and life’s lessons  within our warm and wonderful school house with our extraordinary children, parents, teachers and staff!

Wishing you, my dear parents, a wonderful school year filled with extraordinary ordinaries everyday!

Best regards,
Rita M. Ferri, Principal

Let Me Run Coaches Needed for 2015-16 School Year

Hindley is looking for 2-4 coaches to join Let Me Run next fall! There is a LMR Training Program in June so volunteers can be trained and ready to go for Fall 2015. Training is Thursday June 11th from 5-8:30 at either YMCA or DHS. Let Me Run is much more than a running program for boys. The trained coaches combine exercise with fun activities and lessons to help boys learn teamwork, build relationship skills, create friendships, grow emotionally, amplify their self-esteem, empower themselves and others, and live an active lifestyle. We nurture and celebrate every aspect of what it really means to be a boy, and we let them run! Any questions please email JoEl Shea.
