Thank you to all of those who supported the Kids Care Club’s Third Annual Turkey Drive! We filled Person to Person’s van with 104 turkeys, chickens and ham, and 60 bags of groceries. We also collected $1,265 in grocery store gift cards. Person to Person is very grateful for all of our efforts in helping to feed the food insecure families in our area.
A BIG THANK YOU to all of the Hindley families and staff who donated 489 pairs of socks during the Hindley Spiriteers Sock Drive! Donations more than doubled the amount of socks (212) we donated last year. Socks will be delivered to Monday Night Hospitality at All Soul’s Church in Manhattan, and will be handed out to those who attend the dinner service on Monday, November 23rd.

Just a reminder that Monday November 23rd and Tuesday November 24th are the After School make up days for Columbus and Election Day. This session of after school ends December 10th and winter will start January 11th. Flyers will be going home in backpacks beginning of December.
Dear Hindley Parents,
I am pleased to inform you that Hindley School will be celebrating Computer Science Education Week – “Hour of Code” during the week of December 7 – 11, 2015. Hour of Code is a global movement with more than 100 million learners in 180 countries joining and all Darien public schools will be participating this year.
A one hour activity to spark an interest in computer science and logical thinking will take place during the week of December 7 – 11, 2015 and will include all of our students from Kindergarten through 5th grade. We will establish “buddy” classes which will work together for one hour of coding activities throughout the week.
We are very excited to be providing every child at Hindley School the opportunity to be introduced to computer science in an engaging a fun manner.

Come learn about the adaptations, behaviors and habitats of reptiles and amphibians. New Canaan Nature Center naturalists will bring live animals such as turtles, frogs, snakes and toads to the school so that the children can compare and contrast these amazing creatures.
- Who: Grades 1-5. Kindergarteners MUST attend with parent or caregiver
- When: Wednesday, December 2nd from 1:30- 2:30pm. Children MUST be picked up at the Common Room promptly at 2:30pm.
- Fee: $15/child or $25/family (Confidential scholarships available for those qualifying for financial assistance Contact Tara Levinson.)

Thanks to Mrs. Ferri, the 4th and 5th grade teachers and students, and the help of so many parents and Hindley staff, we had an incredibly moving tribute to our veterans on Friday, November 6th.
